Brandon Marshall was fined $10,500 for wearing orange cleats during the Chicago Bears' 13-7 win over the Detroit Lions on "Monday Night Football," according to a league spokesperson.

Earl Bennett was fined the same amount for wearing orange cleats Monday, but it wasn't his first uniform violation. Bennett was fined a total of $15,000 last season for wearing the cleats in consecutive games. The league warned Bennett last season that if he wore them for a third straight game he would receive a delay of game penalty and be ejected. Bennett did not wear them again until Monday.

Bennett told ESPN Chicago that he planned to appeal the fine because he wore pink shoelaces as part of the NFL's effort to raise awareness about breast cancer during the month of October.

It's not known whether Marshall also plans to appeal the fine.

Bennett said he probably wouldn't have worn the cleats without Marshall's participation.

"It actually came about when I walked in the locker room (before the game), and because I had them in my bag, and I wasn't sure if I was going to wear them," Bennett said Monday. "Then Brandon Marshall was like, 'Let's wear them.' So I just put them on. I probably wouldn't have worn them if he wouldn't have agreed to it."
