Bears add LB James Anderson

The Chicago Bears on Sunday agreed to terms with linebacker James Anderson, who was released by the Carolina Panthers earlier this month.

Anderson is the second linebacker added by the Bears since they announced that Brian Urlacher would not return in 2013. Chicago signed linebacker D.J. Williams to a one-year contract on Friday.

In addition to Urlacher's departure, linebacker Nick Roach left the Bears this offseason to sign a contract with the Oakland Raiders.

In 12 games last season, Anderson registered 73 tackles.

In 94 career games with Carolina, he had 454 tackles, eight sacks, five forced fumbles and three interceptions.
