"He's coming off a couple of strong wins," Quenneville said after practice Friday. "He's got some momentum in his game right now. Let's keep it going."
Niemi beat St. Louis 2-1 on Saturday and followed that up with a 4-3 shootout win against Dallas on Tuesday. He stopped five overtime shots by the Stars and was 5 for 5 in the shootout.
This will mark the first time Niemi will start three straight games this season.
Quenneville would not commit to a goaltender for Sunday's game in Columbus. Niemi is 15-4-1 this season and leads the league with a 1.98 goals-against average.
