Dale Tallon receives Cup ring

Former Chicago Blackhawks general manager Dale Tallon received a special 60th birthday present on Tuesday when Hawks president John McDonough presented him with his Stanley Cup ring.

Tallon, currently the Florida Panthers GM, made a huge impact on the Blackhawks team that won the Stanley Cup last season, drafting Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, and acquiring Patrick Sharp.

After five seasons as Blackhawks GM, Tallon was replaced by Stan Bowman and demoted to senior adviser last year. He left Chicago and became the Panthers general manager on May 17.

"It was cool. Having my name on the Cup and now this ring, it's a beautiful thing," Tallon told ESPN.com. "It's first class on their part."
