As the 20th century drew to a close, Michael Jordan was recognized as an icon.

	Jordan's aerial acrobatics endeared him to millions of fans.

Tall, dark and bald, he was the first man of the planet. The Chicago Bulls guard had the rarest of gifts, the ability to transcend his sport. His fame and skill were intertwined, much as they were in earlier generations for a select few, such as the Babe and Ali.

And now, Jordan's back. In celebration of his return to the court, ESPN Classic will present an evening with Michael Jordan. ESPN Classic Showcase will present the SportsCentury profile of Jordan followed by his 1995 visit to Madison Square Garden to face the Knicks. In his sixth game back from his first retirement, Jordan scored 55 points to lead the Bulls over the Knicks. SportsCentury: Michael Jordan will air again after the game at 11 p.m.

In his first visit back to the Garden since coming out of retirement, Bulls guard Michael Jordan scores 55 points and hands out game winning assist in last seconds of Chicago's 113-111 win. In his 6th game back after 1½ years away from the game, Jordan made the key play in the closing seconds, feeding Bill Wennington for the winning dunk with 3.1 seconds left.
