Wednesday, November 19, 2003 NBA All-Star Profile: Alex English Special to ESPN Classic Alex English played with the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers but will be best remembered for his stint with the "Run-and-Gun" Denver Nuggets. English was a second-round pick of the Bucks in 1976. After two seasons in Milwaukee, he signed as free agent with Indiana. Midway through the 1979-80 season, English was dealt to Denver. He immediately flourished for the Nuggets, averaging 21.3 points in the final 24 games of the season. Dou Moe's full-tilt running game suited English to perfection. Over the next 10 years, English was one of the most prolific scorers in the league. English owned nearly every team record, including most career points (21,645), assists (3,679), games (837), and minutes (29,893) in a Denver uniform. English, who played in eight NBA All-Star games, finished his career in 1991 with the Dallas Mavericks. English was inducted in the Hall of fame in 1997.
