Answer for June 23, 1984
With the Cubs having such a good season, we present this box score from another magical season on the North Side, this one in 1984. En route to MVP honors, Ryne Sandberg had perhaps the best game of his career when he went 5-for-6 with seven RBIs and two game-tying home runs off Bruce Sutter in the ninth and tenth innings.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice that Willie McGee hit for the cycle, to no avail. The Cubs won 12-11 in 11 innings.
