ESPN Classic Remembers
Live from Rockingham Motor Speedway As part of ESPN Classic's tribute to Dale Earnhardt on Saturday (noon-midnight) the network will be live from Rockingham from noon-2 p.m., where Michael Waltrip, Kyle Petty, Ned Jarrett, Bobby Labonte and others will join Kenny Mayne and Mike Massaro to discuss Earnhardt's career, his impact on the sport, as well as their individual relationships with the seven-time Winston Cup champion. They will also provide insight and commentary on the classic races that will be featured as part of the tribute.
Talladega, AL Earnhardt earns his ninth career victory at the Talladega Superspeedway -- more than any other driver -- when he passes Jimmy Spencer with four laps remaining.
Bristol, TN Earnhardt leads with three laps left when Terry Labonte catches him and briefly grabs the lead. Earnhardt regains the lead, bumping Labonte from behind and sending him spinning toward the infield. Earnhardt began the race from the 26th position, the lowest for a winner at Bristol.
Atlanta, GA Earnhardt holds off a determined Bobby Labonte to win the race by 0.010 seconds -- less than two feet -- for his 75th career and track leading ninth victory.
Daytona Beach, FL Earnhardt finally wins the Super Bowl of racing in his 20th attempt, also breaking a career-long 59-race winless streak.
