The Canes had stopped Ohio State in the red zone on fourth down in overtime to win their second consecutive national title, 24-17. And then field judge Terry Porter flagged Miami's Glenn Sharpe for interfering with wideout Chris Gamble. Reprieved, quarterback Craig Krenzel scored, freshman star Maurice Clarett scored in the second OT, and Porter remains reviled at the U.
