Introduction

You can argue that there's no play more dramatic than the last-minute deep pass with a game, a rivalry or more at stake. Fans at Texas, Notre Dame, Colorado and Boston College would attest to that.

You can argue that there's no play more emblematic of the essence of college football than the goal-line stand with a national championship at stake. You would get plenty of agreement at Alabama and Miami.

You can even argue that a five-lateral rugby through the opposing band for the game-winning touchdown against your archrival can't be surpassed.

One thing is for sure: It can't be duplicated. Can it?
