University of Cincinnati All-America defensive tackle Terrill Byrd has been suspended by the school for one game following a citation for smoking marijuana on March 5 at his residence.
The junior will miss the Bearcats' opener against Eastern Kentucky on Aug. 28.
"We said we would handle that matter and we are handling that internally," UC coach Brian Kelly told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "We think we've handed out the appropriate punishment for what we thought was poor judgment."
