Former Boston College quarterback Dominique Davis said Sunday night that he's transferred to community college, where he'll play one year before transferring back to a Division I program.
Davis said he'll play at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas, this year.
"It will turn out all right," Davis said. "I've just got to take a step back to get where I've got to go."
Davis, Boston College's projected starter this season, announced he'd leave Boston College in June after being suspended for academic reasons.
Boston College now has no quarterback with game experience on its roster.
"I feel terrible about leaving because of the adversity that has hit the team with Mark Herzlich [cancer] and then my situation," Davis said. "I had called a team meeting the day everything had happened and told the team that I was transferring. The players supported my situation about transferring and gave me their best wishes."
