ATLANTA -- The city of Atlanta will soon have two football halls of fame.
Former NFL quarterbacks Doug Williams and James "Shack" Harris announced Friday the Black College Football Hall of Fame plans to hold an inaugural induction ceremony in Atlanta on Feb. 10.
Eight players and coaches from Historically Black Colleges and Universities are to be enshrined, though a permanent location in Atlanta for the facility has not been announced.
The Black College Football Hall of Fame will be funded by corporate sponsorships and private donations.
Williams says Atlanta was chosen because its "central proximity holds more than half of the nation's HBCUs."
The College Football Hall of Fame recently announced its move to Atlanta from South Bend, Ind.
