All-Big 12 kick returner Brandon Banks of Kansas State has been released from Riley County Jail after he was arrested on charges of battery and unlawful possession of a stimulant.
Riley County police Lt. Herb Crosby said the arrest came early Sunday morning after a man was involved in a dispute with a woman in her mid-20s who lives at the same residence in the 400 block of North 17th Street in Manhattan, Kan. Banks was released from jail later in the day after posting bonds totaling $2,500.
Banks was selected as the All-Big 12 return specialist and special teams player of the year by coaches after leading the conference with 2,097 all-purpose yards and tying C.J. Spiller of Clemson for an FBS-best four kickoff returns for touchdowns. Banks set Big 12 records with four kickoff returns for touchdowns this season, five kickoff returns for touchdowns in his career and two touchdown returns in a victory over Tennessee Tech on Sept. 26.
He led Kansas State with 56 receptions for 705 yards.
The Wildcats will not play in a bowl game. Banks, a senior, has been scheduled to next play in the East-West Shrine Game in Orlando on Jan. 23.
