Knee injury sidelines QB Kevin Riley

BERKELEY, Calif. -- California quarterback Kevin Riley is expected to miss the rest of the season with an injured left knee.

The school said Monday that tests indicated Riley had a serious knee injury. Riley was hurt in the first quarter of a loss at Oregon State on Saturday.

Coach Jeff Tedford says it's upsetting that Riley's college career has ended in this fashion. Riley ranks in the top 10 at Cal in touchdown passes (50), total offense (6,136 yards) and passing efficiency (131.55). He went 19-12 in 31 career starts.

Brock Mansion is expected to replace Riley starting this week at Washington State. Mansion completed 14 of 24 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown in a reserve role last week.
