Demetri Goodson now has a new school to go with his new college sport.
The former Gonzaga point guard, who gave up his senior season of basketball to play college football, will transfer to Baylor, he told Houston's KRIV-TV. He'll have two years of eligibility remaining in football.
"Just get my transcript from Gonzaga shipped over to Baylor," Goodson told the station. "I shipped it out (Saturday). Once they get all that stuff done, I'll be there. It's a great feeling."
Goodson, the brother of Carolina Panthers running back Mike Goodson, hasn't played football since his sophomore season of high school. He's expecting to play cornerback at Baylor, according to the report. Gonzaga does not offer football.
Goodson, who's listed at 6 feet and 175 pounds, started all 35 games for Gonzaga as a junior, averaging 5.2 points and 2.6 assists to help the Zags to an 11th consecutive West Coast Conference championship.
"I'm excited. A bit nervous because I haven't played (football) in a while," Goodson said, according to the report. "Once I go and start hitting the weights and learning their system, I'll be all right."
