Rice blows by North Texas, 38-24
DENTON, Texas -- Driphus Jackson completed 29 of 39 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns and Dennis Parks caught eight passes for 163 yards and two TD's to help lead Rice to a 38-24 win over North Texas on Saturday.
Jowan Davis finished with 102 yards rushing and Samuel Stewart added 48 yards with a touchdown.
Rice (2-1, 1-0 Conference USA) trailed 3-0 after one quarter but scored 38 of the game's next 45 points to take a commanding 38-10 lead late in the third quarter.
North Texas made late push in the fourth, scoring on an A.J. Ezzard 5-yard run and a 93-yard pass from Andrew McNulty to Carlos Harris.
McNulty finished with 303 yards and two touchdowns through the air and Harris had 193 yards and a pair of TD's receiving to lead North Texas (0-2, 0-1 Conference USA).
The teams combined for 1,040 yards of offense.
