MISSISSIPPI 59, LOUISIANA

OXFORD, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Eli Manning passed for 353

yards and three touchdowns as Mississippi romped to a 59-14

victory over Louisiana-Monroe.

Manning's Heisman Trophy hopes suffered a blow in last week's

44-34 loss to Memphis, but he bounced back to complete 21-of-26

passes against an overmatched opponent.

Manning, who went over the 7,000-yard mark in career passing

last week, wasted no time against Louisiana-Monroe, tossing an

18-yard TD pass to Chris Collins less than three minutes into

the game.

Manning also threw TD passes of five yards to Collins and 49

yards to Taye Biddle as the Rebels (2-1) built a 52-7 lead in

the third quarter.

Ole Miss rolled up 612 yards of total offense as it also rushed

for 225. Michael Spurlock, Manning's backup, also threw a TD

pass in the fourth quarter.

Collins caught nine passes for 121 yards, while Biddle had three

receptions for 105 yards.

Louisiana-Monroe (0-3) has lost two of its three games to

Southeastern Conference teams by a combined score of 108-21. The

Indians suffered a season-opening 49-7 loss to Louisiana State.

Louisiana-Monroe's quarterbacks Daniel DaPrato and Steven Jyles

combined to pass for 307 yards, but the Indians were held to

just 29 yards on the ground.
