Bearcats score 21 unanswered in second half

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Gino Guidugli threw for three touchdowns and a
career-high 377 yards, and Cincinnati defeated South Florida 45-23
on Saturday to become bowl eligible.

Butler Benton also had five carries for 70 yards and a touchdown
for the Bearcats (6-4, 5-2 Conference USA), who have won four
straight games by a combined score of 167-57. Hannibal Thomas
caught 10 passes for 162 yards.

Andre Hall had 16 carries for 155 yards and a touchdown for the
Bulls (4-5, 3-4).

Guidugli, who connected on 30 of 36 attempts, tossed a 49-yard
touchdown pass to Bill Poland with 1:25 left in the second quarter
to propel Cincinnati to a 24-17 halftime lead.

The Bearcats then scored 21 unanswered points in the second
half. Brad Glatthaar had a 22-yard touchdown run and Guidugli
tossed TD passes to Doug Jones and Brent Celek.

Guidugli's three touchdown passes gave him 76 for his career,
moving him into second place in conference history.
