Temple 24, Akron 20

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele was 33-of-34 and hit Dy'Onne Crudup with a 19-yard touchdown pass with 27 seconds left to cap a fourth-quarter comeback and lift the Owls to a 24-20 victory over Akron Saturday night.

Trailing 20-3 entering the quarter, DiMichelle had scoring passes of 2 yards to Kevin Armstrong and 19 yards to Bruce Francis to pull within 20-17.

Akron and Temple traded field goals in the first and second quarters, respectively, then Akron's Chris Jacquemain hit Jabari Arthur with a 49-yard TD pass and Igor Iveljic kicked a 46-yard field goal to give the Zips a 13-3 halftime lead.

Akron (3-4, 2-1 Mid-American) took its 20-3 lead in the third quarter on a 15-yard TD pass from Jacquemain to Alphonso Owen, then Temple (2-5, 2-2) began its comeback.

DiMechele, who was intercepted twice, finished with 242 yards. Francis caught 7 passes for 94 yards and Crudup, 8 for 74 yards.

Jacquemain was 12-of-22 for 145 yards with two interceptions. Arthur caught 6 passes for 84 yards, becoming the Zips' all-time receiver with 150 catches.
