JONESBORO, Ark. -- Derrius Brooks ran in a two-point conversion in overtime to lift Western Kentucky to a 36-35 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday.
In extra time, Arkansas State (4-6, 4-3 Sun Belt) scored on its first play, a 25-yard run by Ryan Aplin to take the lead.
The Hilltoppers (2-8, 2-4) then scored on a 3-yard run by Bobby Rainey to set up the winning conversion.
Arkansas State's Ryan Aplin threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more as the Red Wolves took a 28-21 lead with 2:30 remaining.
A bad ASU snap in punt formation gave the Hilltoppers possession at Red Wolves' 22 with 54 seconds left.
Rainey ran for 146 yards and scored two touchdowns. Jakes ran for one score and passed for two others.
