BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Terrance Owens threw for three touchdowns, including the game-winner with 1:22 remaining, to lead Toledo over Bowling Green 28-25 on Saturday.
The Rockets (5-3, 3-1 Mid-American) blew a 21-0 lead after Bowling Green (5-3, 3-1) scored on Travis Greene's 7-yard run with 5:59 remaining. But Owens led the Rockets down the field, scrambling for 17 yards to the Falcons 11 on third-and-26 before throwing the fourth-down score to Alonzo Russell, who had two TD catches.
The Falcons didn't cross midfield on their final drive. They had rallied from a 21-0 second-quarter deficit with 25 consecutive points, including a 1-yard run by Matt Johnson in the final minute of the first half, a third-quarter field goal and two Greene runs in the fourth quarter.
Kareem Hunt had 114 of Toledo's 242 rushing yards, including a touchdown.
