Mark Snyder hired at Michigan State

Mark Snyder, who was fired after this season as Texas A&M's defensive coordinator, will join Michigan State's defensive staff, according to a source.

Snyder is expected to work with either the Spartans' front seven and/or special teams.

Snyder, who was at Texas A&M since 2012, attended some of the Spartans' Cotton Bowl practices.

Last week, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio promoted secondary coach Harlon Barnett and linebackers/special-teams coach Mike Tressel to co-defensive coordinators to replace former defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi, who accepted Pittsburgh's head-coaching job.
