Case against Jahair Jones dropped; Trevor Darling likely to follow

Cases against University of Miami offensive linemen Trevor Darling and Jahair Jones were both likely to be dropped following their arrests Wednesday night, The Miami Herald reports.

Darling and Jones were arrested and charged with resisting officers without violence, the Herald reported. Jones' case has been dropped, and Darling's is likely to be when he goes to court, according to the newspaper.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by the Herald, Darling and Jones were impeding traffic in the middle of the roadway in Miami Beach. Two officers told them to move out of the roadway, and both refused.

"I am aware of the reported incident involving two student-athletes last night and we are still gathering information," Hurricanes athletic director Blake James said in a statement. "I have very high expectations for all of our student-athletes, as I know coach [Mark] Richt does for his team, and any misconduct will be addressed."

Miami is on spring break and set to begin spring practice next week.

Darling, headed into his junior season, started all 13 games last season at left tackle, while Jones redshirted.
