Christian Pellage charged with drunken driving

South Carolina offensive tackle Christian Pellage has been suspended after his arrest on a charge of driving under the influence last week.

Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp told The State that Pellage would miss playing time for the incident.

"He is going to miss some game time," Muschamp said. "I am working through all the details with Christian."

The sophomore was suspended from football activities after the arrest, per the school's athletic department policy.

Pellage, 19, was released on bond Friday and is due in Richland County Court in Columbia, South Carolina, on Aug. 24, according to court records.

South Carolina opens the season Sept. 1 at Vanderbilt.
