RB Marcus Marshall says he'll transfer from Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech leading rusher Marcus Marshall is transferring from the program, he announced Wednesday.

Marshall, a true sophomore running back, wrote from his Twitter account he will transfer in January. This season, he led the Yellow Jackets with 624 yards, which falls just below the team-leading 654 yards he accumulated as a freshman.

This season, Marshall split time with freshman Dedrick Mills, who ran for 602 yards and 11 touchdowns. Mills averaged nearly twice as many carries per game as Marshall.

Mills, Clinton Lynch, Qua Searcy and J.J. Green all received at least 23 carries this season and return in 2017.
