EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State has unveiled new green-and-bronze uniforms for its Oct. 15 game against Michigan.
The 15th-ranked Spartans are one of a handful of teams chosen to wear Nike Pro Combat uniforms this season. Coach Mark Dantonio says the design is "cutting edge" and the uniforms will "make a statement" for one game.
Dantonio says his players are excited about what Nike came up with.
Georgia and Boise State wore special one-time uniforms for their season-opening game, while Michigan and Notre Dame both donned new uniforms in their game last Saturday.
But the state flag-inspired uniforms worn by Maryland during the Terrapins' season opener -- complete with two different-colored designs on either side of the helmets -- got the most attention among teams making bold fashion statements.
