FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino says freshman running back Kody Walker has had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his shin.
Petrino didn't indicate Wednesday how many games Walker would miss for the Razorbacks. (No. 9 BCS, No. 10 AP) He only said it "will take a while for that to heal."
Walker has five touchdowns this season for Arkansas (5-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference), gaining 68 yards on 20 carries. However, he hasn't had a carry since the Razorbacks' third game against Troy.
Arkansas opens the second half of its season when it travels to Mississippi (2-4, 0-3) on Saturday.
