Bar turns Johnny Manziel into piñata

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has become something of a punching bag for critics, but one Alabama bar has taken it a step further.

With the Aggies set to play Alabama on Saturday, Otey's Tavern in Mountain Brook, Ala., has made a piñata in Manziel's likeness.

Dubbed "Johnny Piñata," the 30-inch tall creation went up on Monday and features an Aggies helmet, a Sharpie, dollar bills, and a dollar sign in place of Manziel's No. 2.

"We don't know what we are going to do with it besides hang it up in the tavern and see if we can't get some people to come by and take pictures, and then maybe we will have a bashing on Wednesday night," Otey's owner Will Haver told AL.com/The Birmingham News on Tuesday.

The plan currently is to let patrons take a few whacks at the effigy at the bar's Wednesday trivia night and hopefully grab some of the prizes and gift cards held inside.

"It's fun to take a whack at a piñata," Haver explained. "It's all in good spirit and fun, to poke at Texas A&M and 'Johnny Football.' "

Tide fans just hope it's not Manziel who gets the last laugh again as the Aggies look to beat Bama for a second straight season.
