Devin Clarke leads available WRs

With national signing day (Feb. 2) around the corner, here is a look at the top uncommitted wide receivers.

Clarke

Devin Clarke (Sebring, Fla.)

Player rank: NR | Position rank: 33 | Grade: 79 | Stars: 3
Height: 5-10 | Weight: 160 pounds | Evaluation
Considering
South Florida

Why they want him: Clarke is a slick, slippery wide receiver that is a nice combination of speed and quickness and he is very difficult to cover one-on-one in the open field. He is slightly undersized with a wiry, lean build and he may be a best fit as a slot receiver and return specialist. He has terrific foot quickness and change-of-direction skills. He can stick his foot in the ground and cut laterally with little-to-no wasted motion, which should make him a dangerous route-runner in time.

Recruiting update: It seems like Skip Holtz and the USF Bulls will be tough to beat on this one. He may first have to go the junior college route.

Jamie Newberg has been covering recruiting both in the Southeast and nationally for 19 years. He can be reached at jamienewbergbw@yahoo.com.
