Ray Drew picks in-state Georgia

Ray Drew, a five-star recruit and No. 13 overall, has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, Miami and several other schools, keeping the dream alive and well for the Dawgs.

The Army All-American from Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Ga., is the top-rated player in Georgia and one of the centerpieces of the "Dream Team" -- a name given to the top recruits in Georgia by Bulldogs fans. With the recent commitment of teammates Jay Rome (Valdosta, Ga./Valdosta) and Malcolm Mitchell (Valdosta, Ga./Valdosta), along with athlete Damian Swann (Atlanta, Ga./Grady), it appears that things are coming together nicely.

An ordained minister, Drew recently told ESPN Recruiting's Jamie Newberg that he really liked Georgia coach Mark Richt and said "I think I can really grow [spiritually] there."

Bulldogs fans also hope he can bolster the team's defensive line and provide a major upgrade to the pass rush.

Drew is the 23rd verbal commitment in Georgia's class and its

fifth member of the ESPNU 150.
