CeCe Jefferson officially a Gator

Florida Gators fans can now rest easy. Five days after national signing day, five-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson finally faxed in his letter of intent to Florida on Monday morning.

Both Jefferson and Florida coach Jim McElwain both tweeted about the commitment Monday.

The No. 9 player in the ESPN 300 committed to Florida on ESPNU on Wednesday, but his father, Leo Jefferson, refused to sign the letter, which requires one parent's signature.

The younger Jefferson, however, despite his father's objections, continued to post pro-Florida tweets over the next several days and even attended Florida's basketball game against Kentucky in Gainesville on Saturday night.

Florida coaches and fans grew antsy, especially after Florida missed out on the No. 1-ranked defensive end and player in the ESPN 300, Byron Cowart, who signed with Auburn.

After several conversations with Florida coaches, Leo Jefferson finally agreed to sign the letter and end the process for his son. CeCe Jefferson updated that development in a Saturday tweet.

With Jefferson officially part of Florida's 2015 class, the Gators finish with 21 signees, including six ranked in the ESPN 300. Jefferson joins offensive tackle Martez Ivey as Florida's two five-star signees.
