Justin Davis commits to USC

Someone might have to convince USC offensive coordinator and running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu that this isn't a dream.

Two days after the Trojans received a verbal commitment from running back Ty Isaac (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic), USC landed another tailback, as Justin Davis (Stockton, Calif./Lincoln) announced his commitment to the Trojans on Thursday.

Davis is a four-star tailback and the No. 24 running back in the country. He became USC's top in-state tailback target after he received a scholarship offer during the Trojans' junior day in February. Davis took another unofficial visit to USC in early April and left with nothing but positive things to say about the Trojans. USC was in good position for a commitment after that, but had to overcome unofficial visits Davis took to Stanford, California and Washington.

In the end, the opportunity to play in the USC offense and become part of the Trojans' tailback tradition proved too much for Davis to ignore. He is the seventh commitment for the Trojans and the third added to the offensive backfield, as he joins quarterback Max Browne (Sammamish, Wash./Skyline) and Isaac.

Davis chose USC over offers from California, Boise State, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, UCLA, Utah and Washington, among others. As a junior he rushed for 2,380 yards and 36 touchdowns.
