Tyson Chandler expects to return

Starting center Tyson Chandler has no intention of missing a fourth consecutive game when the Dallas Mavericks play at his old stomping ground Wednesday night.

Chandler, who has missed three games with a sprained right ankle, said he expects to play against the New Orleans Hornets.

"I'm feeling that I should be able to go Wednesday," the 7-foot-1 Chandler told reporters after the Mavericks' 108-105 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Chandler is averaging 10.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this season. Dallas is 2-1 without its defensive anchor in the lineup.

While Chandler looks like a go, it's unclear if New Orleans All-Star point guard Chris Paul will be available. Paul sustained a concussion in Sunday night's game at Cleveland and was taken to the Cleveland Clinic. He was released and allowed to fly with the team to Chicago, but he did not play in Monday's loss to the Bulls.

Paul is averaging 21.0 points and 10.0 assists against the Mavs in two games this season. The teams have split the series so far with the home teams winning close, high-intensity matchups.
