IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys have set their 53-man roster and 10-man practice squad with the regular-season opener against the San Francisco 49ers looming Sunday, but what it looks like today will be far different than what it will look like in December.
Knowing what we know now, let's rank the roster from 1-63. This isn't about the best player. If that's the case, Tyron Smith and Dez Bryant are fighting it out for the top spot. This is more about value and importance.
In other words, if the Cowboys lost this guy, they would be in a world of hurt. Orlando Scandrick and Jakar Hamilton were not included because they are suspended. DeMarcus Lawrence is not on the list because he was placed on injured reserve/designated to return and will miss the first eight games. So here we go:
