Stars' Adam Burish put on IR

Thursday night's slugfest against Boston was costly for the Dallas Stars.

They placed forward Adam Burish on injured reserve because of a facial injury Friday and recalled forward Francis Wathier from the Texas Stars of the AHL.

Burish was injured in a fight with Boston defenseman Andrew Ference, continued to play and eventually left the 6-3 loss.

Forward Krys Barch is also out with what is being called a facial injury suffered in a fight with Bruins forward Shawn Thornton. He left after the brawl.

Finally, Ray Sawada is out with a shoulder injury and broken nose. He was hit in the head by Boston forward Daniel Paille, who had a disciplinary hearing with the league Friday morning and was suspended four games for an illegal check.

The Stars have put the recall of forward Colton Sceviour from Texas on hold because of travel issues due to the weather. If Sceviour can get on a flight to Philadelphia later Friday afternoon, he will be officially recalled. If not, then the Stars will be forced to go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen for Saturday's game against the Flyers.

To take a spot in the lineup, Travis Morin is rejoining the team.

"All three [injured players] are going back to Dallas and won't play tomorrow," Stars coach Marc Crawford said Friday morning.

Sawada was in bad shape.

"His arm is in a sling. He looked like a mess last night," Crawford said. "It's unfortunate for him. He's just a kid trying to play the game."

Morin, who fainted prior to the trip to Boston and did not travel with the team, is fine.

"He was cleared to play yesterday," Crawford said. "The episode that happened was really nothing."

Wathier has already been up with the Stars. This would be the first NHL call-up for Sceviour, a fourth-round pick (112th overall) in 2007.
