No strong offers for Laird

The Rangers had a surplus of catching for them to try to make a deadline deal, but they haven't received an offer strong enough to persuade them to part with Gerald Laird. Barring a last-minute change of heart, they'll keep Laird and try to move him this winter. With Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Max Ramirez and Taylor Teagarden in the system, Laird is an extravagance for Texas now that he's eligible for salary arbitration.
