Ernie Kent's team has bounced back with six straight wins, including a pair of road surprises at Washington State and Washington. The Cougars came in 10-2 and the Huskies came in ranked. PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jimmer Fredette, BYU
The Cougar star had a career-high 49 points (nine-of-13 on three-point field goals), nine assists and seven rebounds in a 99-69 blowout against Arizona.
CO-SHOCKS OF THE WEEK: William and Mary over Maryland and Pittsburgh over Syracuse
Tony Shaver's team has enjoyed success against the ACC this season. First, it was shock city against Wake Forest. Now, it's another major surprise against the Terps, 83-77. Quinn McDowell scored 28 points for the winners. William and Mary made eight trifectas and hit 25-of-31 from the foul line.
The Panthers handed the Orange their first loss of the season. The stunner came at the Carrier Dome as Ashton Gibbs and Jermaine Dixon combined for 45 points. Three-point shooting was a key as Syracuse made one-of-13 while Jamie Dixon's team hit 10-of-24.
COACH OF THE WEEK: Matt Painter, Purdue
The Boilermakers scored one of the biggest wins of the week, knocking off West Virginia on New Year's Day. Purdue also scored a Big Ten road win at Iowa. The Boilermakers remain unbeaten.
DIAPER DANDY OF THE WEEK: Elias Harris, Gonzaga
The newcomer from Germany helped Mark Few's team earn three victories. Harris hit seven-of-11 from the field, scoring 19 points while grabbing 16 boards against Illinois. He had 22 points vs. Eastern Washington and 15 points and nine rebounds against Oklahoma on New Year's Eve.
