We're in trouble here in Jacksonville. Serious, serious trouble. This could be the Super Bowl disaster by which all other Super Bowls will be compared. For instance, today I found out that there are 300 cabs covering the entire city. That's not a misprint. Every story you hear is worse than the last. I'm convinced that everyone in the city was under the impression that they were hosting the 2009 Super Bowl, then found out last week, "Oh, it's THIS year?" And they've been scrambling ever since.

I'll have more on this tomorrow. In the mean time, I brought my digital camera to Media Day and took as many pictures as possible, then we organized the best ones into a digital photobook for you, the home reader. Also, I wrote some captions. And there's a picture of my grotesque beard somewhere in here, along with some other goodies. I don't think you'll be bored. Anyway, here's a little taste of Media Day, courtesy of my Digital Elph:

PART I | PART II | PART III | PART IV | PART V | PART VI | PART VII | PART VIII

MediaDay
Here's what Media Day looks like from the stands -- just a mass of people, most of them unhappy and hungry. When you're about to wade in there, it's the same feeling you get right before you're about to wade into cold water at the beach: Get it over as fast as possible, and hope you don't touch anything.

MediaDay
I always feel bad for these guys -- the stray players who never get approached by anyone. That's a long hour when you're just standing there with nobody coming up to you. It's like being an ugly stripper at a strip joint.

MediaDay
I thought about asking Donovan McNabb if he had the most famous balding afro since Gus Williams, then decided against it.
