The Extreme Games Are Back

In 1995, ESPN started the Extreme Games. It was held in Rhode Island and included sports such as inline skating, bungee jumping, sport climbing, water ski jumping, sky surfing, street luging and more. By 1996, the event was re-branded the X Games and, well, the rest is history -- until today. Action sports are ever-evolving, and today the X Games is proud to announce it has come full circle. Beginning in 2016, the X Games will once again be called the Extreme Games, and the following is a look at the newest disciplines to be joining the X family. Oh, and April Fools'!
