"Right after Katrina, kids were eager to get back to doing something in the city," says Jubilee, whose Panthers were one of the first rec sports teams to return to playing post-Katrina. "They were lost and felt misplaced without a sport. When they started playing again, they felt a sense of New Orleans and of being a kid again. It took Katrina off their minds for a while each day."
