UNLV commit Derrick Jones soars over four players during dunk contest

What happens in Vegas might stay in Vegas, but we're hoping that doesn't apply to future Derrick Jones dunks. Because we want to see this UNLV commit dunk all the time. And everywhere.

Why?

Well, what happened Wednesday night in Carmel, Indiana, is why. At the American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championship, Jones attempted to dunk over four fellow high-schoolers competing in the event. Yes, four.

And it worked! Take a look:

One can argue it's even more impressive when seen as a still image:

See the players all taking selfies right as they are being dunked over? Well, thanks to Notre Dame commit Rex Pflueger, we know exactly how the spectacular dunk looked from that angle, as you can see at the top of this story.

Jones, a native of the Philadelphia area, did indeed win the contest (duh), scoring a perfect 50 on all three of his dunks -- saving the very best for last.

"I jumped over two people at the [Under Armour Elite 24 in August] and was at dunk contest at Memphis and jumped over three," Jones told USA Today. "I just thought about four today and thought, 'Why not?' and just did it."
