Utah St. guard Carroll will enters NBA draft
LOGAN, Utah -- Utah State guard Jaycee Carroll will enter the NBA draft but won't hire an agent to retain the right to withdraw by June 18 and return for his senior season.
The 6-foot-2 Carroll, of Evanston, Wyo., averaged 21.3 points per game last season to lead the Western Athletic Conference.
"Our coaching staff understands and supports Jaycee on his decision to explore the NBA," coach Stew Morrill said.
Morrill said unless Carroll is guaranteed to be a first-round pick on June 28, the junior should return to school.
NBA teams will evaluate players May 29-June 4 at a camp in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
"I think it is important for the development of my game to see how I compare against the best collegiate basketball players in the country," Carroll said in a statement Monday.
