Macau suspended by FIFA due to political interference
LONDON, Feb 15 - FIFA suspended the Macau Football Association on Tuesday for "serious interference" by political figures in the association's business.
World soccer's governing body said in a statement that all international footballing activities by Macau, a former Portuguese colony that reverted back to China in 1999, were suspended until further notice.
FIFA did not give details of the nature of the political interference.
The Nigerian Football Association was threatened with suspension by FIFA last month after the country's sports minister sacked two leading officials and replaced them with government appointees.
The Nigerian FA relented, reinstated both officials and accepted the resignation of one.
