THE CHAMPION :
LANCE ARMSTRONG

When he won the Tour de France for a second time, Lance Armstrong said he could never reach a higher point in his career. Oh, how wrong he was. It's time for Lance to clear out a spot on his mantel right beneath Billy the Singing Bass, because he's ESPN The Magazine's first-ever Internet Athlete of the Year. His site, LanceArmstrong.com, was judged better than OmarVizquel.com by a 62%-38% margin in a poll of ESPN.com users. (It was neck-and-neck for awhile, but then Lance sprinted away from the Cleveland Indians shortstop in the final stages.) So where's a two-time Tour, one-time Internet Athlete champ to go now? Where else? Disneyland.com!
