Fun Facts: Kerry Collins

This guy is fairly important to the Titans' success as well. Getty Images

What are "Fun Facts?"

Hard to argue that Kerry Collins leads a pretty "fun" life at present. After leading JoePa and Penn State to Big 10 heights in the early 1990s, he was the QB of that 1996 Carolina Panthers team that unexpectedly got to the NFC Championship Game. He even QB'ed the 2000 New York Giants. (We can ignore how that ended.) Now, he's the field general for a 10-0 Tennessee Titans team (admit it: you didn't see that coming). At the beginning of the season, he was asked to manage games; the last two wins (Bears and Jaguars), he basically won the game for Jeff Fisher. Nice. Let's look at the more irreverent parts of Mr. Collins' life, shall we?

1. It's hard for us not to be happy when we're looking at you, Kerry Collins.

2. Collins is from Lebanon, Pa., a town known for dropping bologna at midnight on New Year's Eve.

3. Alan Jackson's "Good Time" is Collins' song of choice before and after games.

4. Collins was one of three Nittany Lions that were taken in first round of the 1995 NFL draft. The others were Ki-Jana Carter and Kyle Brady.

5. Even The Onion can appreciate Collins' success: "What a career for Kerry Collins. First he overcomes alcoholism, then racism and now his own incompetence."

6. His favorite movie is Tombstone. We love Doc Holliday too.

7. During the offseason, Collins lives in Asheboro, NC on his "Blue Q" ranch, so named because every team he's played for (except the Raiders) uses blue as a primary color.

8. Others blowing out candles on Collins' birthday, Dec. 30? LeBron, Tiger, and Heidi Fleiss.

9. The Ballad of K-Coll.

10. Always remember this: Kerry Collins is not Trent Dilfer 2.0.
