You'll Literally Never Guess Who's The Most Marketable Athlete In The World

Pop quiz time! Who is the most marketable athlete in the world? Did you say LeBron James? Serena Williams? Rory McIlroy? Danica Patrick? Peyton Manning?

All great answers, but you would be wrong. At least, according to SportsPro.

The London-based sports magazine released its annual list of the 50 most marketable athletes in the world on Wednesday, and Eugenie Bouchard -- yes, Eugenie Bouchard -- is at the top.

The 21-year-old Canadian tennis star, who has yet to win a Grand Slam title, was "picked on potential, rather than her most recent results" and the "promise of developing into a global figure in sport and the media."

But before you wonder how on earth Bouchard could be more marketable than, say, 19-time Grand Slam champ Serena Williams, know that the list is designed to recognize the marketing stars of tomorrow and is not about the present.

And, in awesome news for emerging female athletes, Bouchard's selection marks the first time in the list's five years of existence that a woman is No. 1. Eleven other women also made the cut, including Missy Franklin, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Ronda Rousey, Caroline Wozniacki, Lydia Ko, Lexi Thompson and Alex Morgan.

Who runs the world?
