Why wheelchair racer Tatyana McFadden loves Katy Perry

Fresh off two major victories -- her fourth Boston Marathon and third London Marathon -- Paralympic wheelchair racer Tatyana McFadden was all smiles at the 100 Day Countdown to Rio event in New York at the end of April. We caught up with the 11-time Paralympic medalist to learn more about her mental strategy before a competition.

"When I'm on that hour bus ride to the marathon course or on my way to the track, I'll listen to these songs," she said right before sharing of a list of her current favorites (see below).

"The lyrics speak to me. I get different messages from each song. For example, Katy Perry's 'Roar' is about unleashing an animal inside of you. It's about strength and power. 'Rise Up' by Andra Day is a little more calming. It touches on the reasons why you put so much hard work into this."
