Amari Carter, the No. 7 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Super 60 for the 2015 class, gave a verbal commitment to Penn State on Sunday.

"It's one of those things," she said, "where I know it's right."

Carter had narrowed her finalists down to Penn State and Kentucky.

Carter, a 5-foot-7 point guard, averaged 17.5 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals for St. John's College High School (Washington, D.C.) as a junior and was invited to trials for the USA Basketball U17 team later this month.

Carter is the Lady Lions' second commit for 2015, joining three-star post player Jaylen Williams of Archbishop Williams (Braintree, Mass.).

Carter's commitment means five of the top 10 prospects in the class are off the board. No. 1 Katie Lou Samuelson, No. 2 Asia Durr, No. 4 Kyra Lambert, No. 6 Teniya Page and No. 9 Kalani Brown remain undeclared.
