Just as the 2017 class was signed and sealed, two elite prospects from the 2018 class have given verbal commitments.
Mykasa Robinson, a 5-foot-7 point guard at Paul G. Blazer (Ashland, Kentucky) and the No. 13 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Super 60, has committed to Colorado. Ashley Joens, a 5-9 guard at Iowa City (Iowa) and the No. 16 prospect, has committed to Iowa State.
Robinson, a dynamic playmaker, will join her sister, sophomore guard Alexis Robinson, in Boulder.
"I'm excited to continue my career at Colorado," Mykasa Robinson said. "I get a chance to play with my sister as well. I also feel that Colorado fits my style of play."
Robinson took unofficial visits to Michigan State, Louisville and Kentucky but also entertained Arizona and UCLA before focusing on Colorado.
Colorado is off to a 3-0 start and coming off an upset of Kentucky on Saturday.
Joens, on the other hand, opted to stay closer to home.
"Iowa State recruited me hard and I ultimately wanted to stay in-state," she said, adding that Iowa did not recruit her. "I have a real connection with the coaches and the players. I got tired of the process and I wanted to commit early to help build the ISU program."
Joens is a superb fundamental guard with range to the arc. Her older sister, Courtney Joens, is a freshman guard at Illinois.
